Peter Vento (continued by Brian Tervenski)
From the time he was born he was risk taker and a natural athlete. As he grew older he was fond of playing team sports, going to dances, chasing girls, socializing outside the family. He smoked, drank, hung around with the boys, joined traveling baseball teams, the basketball league, the National Guard and had a good time in everything, always with a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. There was never any malice in the examples he set for all his younger brothers and sisters. He just enjoyed life and was going to encounter it on his terms. Everybody seemed to understand . Early on Nana knew she was defeated, but she had to make a show of attempted discipline for the younger kids. After all she must have reasoned, even though he was the first born son, this was America, Land of Freedom and Petey, as she called him made it clear to her and Pop that he had a certain inalienable right to the pursuit of happiness wherever it took him.
